I would assume that it sends some weird data on startup before initialisation is finished. Do you ever tried to start the Accelerators MIDI Monitor before starting the MIDI interface? Does it shows any message?

Yes, I did that. It doesn't show anything. Neither does my iPad. Neither does MIDI-OX.

The MOTU must be sending something on start-up. It's the only explanation. Thanks for helping. I'll just turn my MOTU on first and be done with it!

Happy about the new downloads! I will apply the updates in a few days (I'm too busy "outside music" at the moment...).
Thank you Joerg!

For the MotU MTP issue: on the AV USB model there is a reset function which may cure some problems; it could work also on different versions of the device. Just save your customised settings (if any) before doing it!

Here is the procedure: turn the "Window" knob until the display shows ”Global Hardware Setup”, the turn the "Cursor" knob all clockwise to select the ”Reset All Data” option, and confirm with the "Enter" button. This will wipe away the internal memory settings to restart with a clean machine.
(Taken from my collection of reset procedures... I'm not using a MTP recently.)

Thanks for the suggestion. I know my MTP likely reset itself when I had to replace the internal battery (it died and reset itself every time I turned it on) - I'll give this a test anyway. Currently, just turning it on first alleviates all issues. Thanks :)

I performed the updates a few days ago; all fine, except for a minor issue that I wish to report to Joerg:
when I ran the bootloader update, it compared its version number with the firmware installed in the synth, warning about the lower version of the update! In other words, bootloader v1.54 was compared with firmware v1.90 and not with the bootloader v1.52 that I previously had on the Accelerator...

By looking at the version numbers I decided that it was a "false alarm", so I ignored the warning and processed the update flawlessly, but I think some other users may refuse to proceed if they don't guess what's really going on.

I hope I explained the issue, and I wonder if someone else experienced the same.

Joerg - the issue with the MIDI Timepiece also affects my Yamaha TX81z. I don't get it. It's clearly sending out a signal that's causing major issues to some of my synthesizers. I'm going to look into it more, but... just know that your device is in good company :D
