Pausing Certain Sequences While Others Keep Playing

Postby thresholdpeople » Fri May 06, 2016 5:22 pm

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a used Spectralis 2. Been having a blast playing with it. The modulations sound so good I've found myself content to set up a simple Asynth patch, 1 or 2 oscillators, add some LFO modulations to TLM and sometimes the waveshape and let that play. Then for some variations I set up some polyrhythmic sequences further modulating those parameters and it's great.

I'm curious though about being able to quickly mute certain sequences while others keep playing.. for instance I have a sequence playing a note on the Asynth, and a sequence modulating TLM, I'd like to pause the modulation sequence. Is this possible? I know I can make a second pattern and switch patterns, but this takes some foresight, and I'm curious about improvisational aspects of such techniques.

I assume you are talking about sequence lines. Unfortunately there is no mute function availailable for sequencer lines. You need to create multiple copies of your stepsequencer pattern and delete the target assignments of sequences you don't want the Spectralis to play. Afterwards you can jump between the different muting settings by selecting the different patterns.

Ahh yeah, that's what I figured. Are there plans to implement such a feature in the future? It'd be really nice for improvising and extra modulation control, all without stopping the sequencer.
