Could we start a new thread for the boot issue? This will get lost in the LP filter fix if we have two different topics here.

Thanks

We should keep it here, as it has obviously something to do with the repair.

I have an idea! Do you maybe have inserted the SD card cable into the wrong socket? There is a programming socket close to the Spectralis MCU. The reset line is on that socket too. That is the only reason I have at the moment, what would cause that problem. So please open the Spectralis and check the SD socket cable. The correct slot is labelled with "CON13 SD CONNECT". That socket is at the right side of the bigger circuit board.

Ok - the cable is in the correct socket..
Could this have to do with not being used for a long time before the 171 flash and the LP filter box cutter fix?
(i did start another thread as well..)

Are you sure, that it never happeened before? Anyway, in that case I would concluse, that something is wrong with the reset circuit.

My apologies. I've just had booting issues ever since I've had my device, and just assumed that it was something related to that, where I boot up and then it basically bypasses the hard drive. I can't access any songs or anything. So I shut down, count to ten, and turn it back on and it works just fine. Just assumed it was that problem (maybe that's not normal?).

Good luck rbhall7ice!

I'd say its normal. Mind you, its been awhile since that's happened to me, but it used to happen often.

anyway...

Yup, it's happened to me a few times in the past...not very often though.

Ok, this is really great. I was always wondering why the Spectralis' sound had this kind of disco feel to it. Now I know. So, guess what I found when opening the machine to remove that faulty smd responsible for the LPF misbehavior. The object in the upper right corner of the picture explains it all :o

What's even better: I found that not just removing that little bastard smd from the PCB, but instead attaching it right below the CF card to the metal plate gives the LPF a way more brutal touch. Marvellous :D
