Is there life after v1.90? :-)

Postby SerialSinger » Thu Jan 26, 2017 5:33 pm

Hello! Does anybody knows if an OS update greater than 1.90 is on the way? I noticed that the Accelerator downloads page shows a v1.91 link which is sadly redirected to the old v1.90 archive...

I see that the Radikal business is pushing to other directions, but giving up the Accelerator development for so many years brings the risk to a bad reputation in terms of long-time support and instruments longevity.

I'm sure that some significant updates (even not for free, if they would "upgrade" the instrument in a critical way!) would renew the interest for this precious synth, in a market that is not able to offer any "revolutionary" new product.

What a pity! :(

Such a fantastic synth :D Other than an annoyong MIDI bug I submitted, I am very pleased with it's functions and performance.
I'm curious to know what updates you're anticipating?

I know what I want:

Fixed MIDI implementation - Some items, such as LFO #4, Pre-Delay Feedback, and FX dry/wet - Are not received by the Accelerator

Fixed MIDI issues (when attached to my MOTU MIDI Timepiece and the Timepiece is turned on, all MIDI is stopped on the Accelerator, requires reseting)

Fixed Monophonic mode - i.e., ADSR behavior corrected.

I really would like to know, what the MotU Interface is sending to the Accelerator and what your settings at the Accelerator are. Mine is attched to an AMT8 and I never experienced any issues since version 1.xx.

I just uploaded bootloader version 1.54 and firmware 1.91b to the download section. I was not even aware that these versions haven't been uploaded yet as the section already said version 1.91. So I thought it is online.

I did the whole new website and would be very happy if you would report any other issues at the site. I am a bloody greenhorn in webdesign but I am happy to have the opportunity to add blogging to the page.

The new bootloader solves bootup/startup problems and some system menu save problems that occured on some machines. And yes - there is life after 1.90! It still sounds wonderful ;-)

I'll see what I can find for what my MOTU is sending to the Accelerator. There MUST be something going on - I'll test for MIDI signals sent when the MOTU is turned on - and report back.

What's new in version 1.91?

There are only bug-fixes made. I described them above. Maybe the startup problem is the same like your silence problem. So I recommend updating to the new bootloader version 1,54. After updating the bootloader, the firmware must be installed as well. Please refer to the instruction videos.

I have no MotU MIDI Timepiece here. If you really would like to get that fixed, you need to monitor the MIDI messages and send it to us.

I just tried! No messages are said to be sent!

Honestly, it's something I can work around - I just turn that stupid MOTU on first. If I figure out a way to see what data is being sent (no method I've found says anything though), I will let you know.

Thanks :)

Ah, I totally missed what the update provided in version 1.91 (from your first post - got it now!).

Unfortunately, it didn't fix whatever issue occurs with my MOTU timepiece - note that I don't seem to have this problem when anything else is turned on, just the MOTU. And it would be hard to troubleshoot without either the timepiece or without any MIDI signals that I can detect. I wonder if that's a similar issue that other people have had with MIDI issues in another thread... I stopped having this problem after I stopped using the MOTU, but then I started using it again and sure enough, there was the problem.

Anyway, all good over here. Glad to see the update :D
