Modwheel not working in Multi Mode RESOLVED

Postby mkastrup » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:29 pm

Accelerator v. 1.56

Looks like someone forgot to make Modwheel able to modulate anything in Multi Mode.
I was doing some pretty advanced setups using Multi and wanted to finish up the preset only to discover that Modwheel didnt do a damn thing on any parts.

I have countless situations where this is needed.

Just imagine a Split or Dual without Modwheel functions and you get the picture.

Same problem with V1.57.

It seems to be OK with 1.54. Of course 1.54 is missing some of the new+fun stuff, so I hope for an update, that is as solid as 1.54 and has all the new features...

By the way: Do you get note hangs when using external sequencers? I have that with 1.57, but not with 1.54.

It seems, that 1.54 is the version of choice at the moment.

Just in case: Write a mail to Jörg.

Edit: Forgot to mention: On 1.57 I do get modwheel action on part 1, independent of the Zone I use for sending to part 1. So the ignoring of the modwheel seems to happen on part, not on zone level.

Well i'm using 1.56 which have all the MIDI problems when used with a DAW so i only use Accelerator as standalone. Also, in 1.56 incoming MIDI from the DAW to the Accelerator affects the sync of delay which kinda makes the delay wobble up and down in speed while its trying to sync.

I have written Jörg about both issues.

If Jörg does not respond in a timely fashion, drop me a PM containing your email and I can send you 1.54.

If you are not on Win XP I would be careful with updating. I had some problems updating with my Win 7 box. XP works well.

To give you an idea of what you would loose here is the relevant part of the change log:

=> 20120423 V1.56
- New: Swing for ARP
- Fix: When MIDI-Routing changed (Zone-Assignment, Play-Mode, Performance change etc.),
only for notes tracking of settings during Note On was implemented. Controllers did
not touch "original" zone assignment, which, for example produces hanging notes
when this routing is changed while the sustain pedal is held. This version takes
track of at least controllers 64..69 (Hold, Portamento, Sustenuto, Soft, Legato, Hold2)
and sends the Off-Event also to that zone which was active during the On-Event.
However, this does not change behaviour of Mod-Wheel, Pitchbender etc, their states
will still be frozen on the "leaving" part until return...

=> 201207xx V1.57
- Fix: Zone Transpose not reset when Local Zone Transpose Flag reset
- Fix: Several received NRPN controls may corrupt sound system (or even crash the device)
- Fix: MasterVolume set to 50 at startup (wasn't updated before and jumping to previous value on first touch)
- Mod: LoclOff=[OFF|ON] changed to Local=[ON|OFF]
- Mod: Unisono detune changeable during runtime
- Mod: Parts 3..8 assignable to all three Buses (Part1, Part2 and Dry).
- Parts 1&2 not assignable to keep FX 1&2 editable
- Would be nice to have FX editable from Part3..8 depending on current assignment, but that's not easy...

Loosing swing on Arp and sending the seq to external stuff is hard.

On the other hand DAW control and MOD wheel in multimode work.

Re: Modwheel not working in Multi Mode v 1.60

Postby mkastrup » Thu Mar 14, 2013 5:34 pm

Ahhh found the first bug in v 1.60.
Original this thread was for v 1.56 but now that the problem persist i just edited the topic.

Its the same thing described in the original post in this thread, modwheel no-can-do in multi mode.

All other controllers like pitch bend, buttons etc.. are working but not modwheel.

Multi mode is the mode which people like me prefer as working ground since i control all my stuff from a DAW.

How to check this, enter multi mode, hit part knob,
assign each part to its own midi channel like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8
no part will respond to modwheel changes.

So Houston, we still got a problem here. ;)

Re: Modwheel not working in Multi Mode v 1.62

Tried v 1.62, the problem is still there.

I got a multi setup, each part has its own midi channel.
When i go through a part and edit the modmatrix nothing happens when modwheel is assigned to anything.
Tried with modwheel to F1 Cut and modwheel to TUNE but no part respond to modwheel changes.

Is the modwheel maybe filtered in the zone edit menu?

Doh, well in Zone FLTMWHL was set to default OFF,
i assumed the OFF position was correct but realize now that it has to be ON lol
