Accelerator FX Chain for external instruments

Postby Jörg Schaaf » Sat Feb 05, 2011 10:40 am

Wow - yesterday the balanced audio inputs appeared for the first time in the bus mixing matrix. The inputs gain control allows for connecting even higher impedance instruments or microphones directly to the accelerator. Yesterday we had a lot of fun with an electric bass (input 2), an electric guitar (input 1) and of course the bombastic Accelerator sound. The Accelerator acts then not just as a new synth but also as a really cool preamp with endless FX opportunities.
The FX chain is meanwhile complete. A very nice new saturation/ distortion /fuzz algorithm replaced the former saturation stage. We completed the new algorithm with much more oversampling to create the most beautiful and aliasing free distortion in the digital domain I think.
All FX modulation LFOs and delay times are now syncable. It is very cool to create a wide ambient pad with a lot of subtle modulations and rotate the tempo encoder. All filter, pitch, chorus, phaser and leslie modulation speeds are then following the clock source on different selectable note resolutions. That is so cool...

As soon as the Accelerator gets finished, we will check, which FXs can be made available for the Spectralis and Spectralis 2 as well. Andreas has learned a lot during the past weeks. So you can expect lot of new and beautiful FXs for the Spectralis as well.
