2015 - maybe the year of the final update

Postby FreeSoulWorld » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:02 pm

Hello

I hope the next year will bring us the final update. After all this years of making Music with this amazing spectralis 2, i will come to the same point evertime. Some missing features :?

But in the end there are so much possibilities to handle everything

I also have some wishes for the coming update, because of the longtime using. Sometimes there are moments which are amzing and they need to be reproduced.

So I am dreaming

Sometimes i wish i had sync lfo for some moments.......
Sometimes i wish i can life rec my song (like on the Korg EMX)......
Sometimes i wish i can copy/paste a seq line.......

More will follow. Everybody is welcome to dream with me :D

Yeah, LFO sync would be awesome for a lot of reasons.

Record your song? I don't know what you mean. There is a song mode, works pretty well if you understand it.

Sometimes i wish i can copy/paste a seq line.......

Yeah, this would be nice.

It would also be awesome to be able to load samples from the SD card (so you just have samples stored here and have performz folders for all of the MIDI data, centralizes media storage for use in all PERFORMZ folders). This might be an issue with physical transfer of data though.

It would also be nice to be able to shift 16 steps at a time in the step sequencer section (as opposed to 1 step at a time).

It would also be nice to be able to re-sync the step sequencers during live play. As you add steps to a sequencerline, it gets off in time. A sync function would be nice to get everything back on track.

+1

Would already be happy with OS 1.5 for the Spectralis 1 though.

Yeah, I just got Spectralis all hooked up again. I've been getting into modular, and I am using it in a chain with an Analogue Solutions Europa and MS-20, with Eurorack stuff and ASR-10. The Spec neatly complements all of the above with the probabilistic sequencing. Having more analog gear equipment than just the Spec helps overcome some of its limitations. Very cool piece. Would be nice to have a really refined OS for it.

2nd to missing features ...the smallest list I´ll ever make ..

Pattern
--Pattern preview before saving
--Pattern End playback point /cue
--Pitch Transpose saved within pattern
--Pattern Fill mode
Dsynth
--Fine tune
Shuttle+Shift
--DrumGrid = resolution
--StepLine = by bars

Very minor stuff: The only fairy-dust here is: Patter Fill ''Sene'' Mode but I feel strongly about it and wish I had it on many ocations for many reasons.. 16 of these per pattern would be remarkable for live use/ arrangement!! ..and these are only data copies of patterns, nothing to unrealistic here
> Mute/Solo, All Seq & Transpose settings; stored within: Fill/Sene
^Pattern Fill
--Auto = bar intervals
--Live = playable

Utility
--Append
--Swap patterns
--Copy between songs internally
--tempo fine tune

Swap = (when arranging patterns for live play
(i.e. switches places between two patterns,
A fast way to arrange live pattern set /and or keep patterns organized before creating song

2ndary
Step--Probability in repetitive/circling value
Motif--Rotation
Drum--micro shifting --2nd part / MIDI
Drums--LFO key Restart, --OSC StartM (as is) / IndxM (mods window =first ns-ms) / Offsett (humanize, adds random ns-ms) , Mute groups with ducking options

Select always overwrites other modes i.e. shift ( too many times I end up in: change patterns: Y/N screen << a cancel option here and a cue mode please

I´m trying my hardest not to rape this thread ;)

and a good day2u2..

most important for me:

-) LFO-Sync (cmon, its a digital lfo  )
-) LFO-Keytrigger
-) Midi CC for Asynth/Dsynth parameters
-) Finetune for Dsynth

....and finally: fixing the FiIlter Calibration Routine on Spectralis mk2

I would pay 200€ for an update like this

I have been working intensively in the step sequencer in my last project, it has underlined the weakest part of the spectralis workflow imo: .. shortcuts from the front panel are great!, yet the counter-innovation lies in; that it´s one-way, so you can jump to menus but not back (back= page up/down) so these are priority workflow features imo:

Step-Seq workflow:
--Function toggle (always p1), or just double-press Function for p1
-- Resolution lower / higher (via function + step 10 and 13 ..
--Step line selection ( hold target and press step/ to select line)

it be a real joy to be able to jump menus back and forth and select lines all from front panel

I would think this is simple stuff/coding for Mr.Andreas

btw: I´d pay 200ero for an major update

I would love to see an update so everything works more properly, but I don't think that means there's an update. One would hope that the Spectralis 1 would be updated first (so you might think you'd see a picture of Joerg with a Spectralis 1 if there was an update for it).
